In 1966 Thornlie was a very new suburb, with 500 houses and a population of around 2,000 people, Thornlie was less than a decade old.

The Parker and Williams families were instrumental in establishing our bowling facility. Following on after a meeting with the Gosnells Council George Parker, Jack Williams and Lindsay Clark (Gosnells Councilor) went back to Ross Elliot's home and resolved to get on with the task of establishing a bowling club. Many meetings took place to incorporate our club and address all the other issues that building a new facility creates.

In 1966 - George Parker was elected our first President - Laurence Sims our Secretary, with June Howlitt the club's first Treasurer. The first AGM was held in February 1967 at which time the club had approximately 112 members.

In April 1967 plans were drawn up by the Gosnells Council showing a proposed clubhouse and three greens on the Ravenhill Road site. Construction of the greens commenced around February 1968 with both B & C green being ready for play late 1969, with planning for A green well under way.

The clubhouse followed soon after and the club's first bar was built by Ron Kiernan (a cabinet maker by trade) and we are all very thankful that Ron built it otherwise it would have been a very dry argument.

The clubhouse was officially opened on the 9th of October 1971, we should all be forever thankful to every person, whether mentioned here or not, who had a hand in bringing our club to life. Without their forethought and their many hours of hard work our club may not have existed today. We would like to recognize everyone who had a part to play be it large or small.

Today's members thank you very much for your efforts they are well appreciated.
